Default Missing Order?

When a customer places an order we have a copy of the confirmation sent to our company e-mail.

Occasionally we'll receive the e-mail confirmation but there will be no record of the order in our PS order logs.

No record of the invoice. No record of the confirmation #. As if the order never existed.

I can only assume this is a glitch in the system, but what an annoying an problematic glitch it is.

Would love some insight, or possible solutions. Thanks!

It sounds like you're using PayPal. If so, the email gets generated sometimes even though the transaction hasn't completed. Yes, a glitch.

I agree that this is a nuisance. I generally "confirm suspicions" by looking at the orders.log file in the prostores/log folder. It is a bit cryptic, but at least allows you to see that an order was cancelled...

Well, I have a similar problem--using Paypal (Of course).
I received an email with an order confirmation, but no payment. Fine, so now I have to double check for payments.
BUT, I have an order in PS, for which I DID NOT receive an email order confirmation. I had no record of this order, except in PS. I checked Paypal, and the payment is there. What happened there? Another "glitch"?

And, I have a Pending Order on my "home" page in admin, but when I click on it, it says there are no pending orders. What? It's still there, but it's not. What is going on?

Any suggestions or ideas?

I have the same thing happening in my store.

I received an order confirmation and when I checked, it was not in the pending order log but in new customer orders. Thinking that the person obviously used Paypal, I checked my account. Nothing.

Contacted customer via email to see if this was a mistake and he just wanted to be on the mailing list, but have not received his response.

I am not sure what to do about that. I have no clue what was ordered, if anything....

Very puzzling indeed.
